What We Do

Medical Facilities and Equipment

The Ulverscroft Foundation has funded the building of hospitals and eye clinics.

The Ulverscroft Foundation has funded the building of hospitals and eye clinics. This funding has enabled many more adults and children from all parts of the world to have their eye conditions diagnosed and treated.

Hospitals have also been given the latest specialised equipment, and funding for operating theatres and other facilities. An example is the funding for the Ulverscroft Children’s Eye Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. In addition to the treatment facilities, attractive waiting and play areas were built to make a visit to the hospital as pleasant an experience as possible for the children and their carers.

The Ulverscroft Foundation has funded ophthalmologists from UK hospitals who wished to help developing countries by practising alongside local medical staff and demonstrating new techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and eye surgery.
