The Ulverscroft Foundation’s support of the research carried out by the University of Leicester began in 1978 with the funding of the Ulverscroft Chair in Ophthalmology. Our support has been continuous since that date.
We are pleased to be able to confirm a recent pledge of £303k over three years bringing our commitment to over £1.4m. This latest grant is for Professor Irene Gottlob and her team for research into the use of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) with Children.
“The support from the Ulverscroft Foundation over the last five years has placed Leicester at the forefront of OCT research in children worldwide. This has led to substantial progress and has brought hand held OCT to the point where it has made a major impact in paediatric ophthalmology.” Prof Irene Gottlob
